Tasting - Chateau Heritage Grand Vin Bourgeois

Chateau Heritage Grand Vin Bourgeois
Name: Chateau Heritage Grand Vin Bourgeois
Variety: 40% Syrah, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Mouvedre
Region: Bekaa Valley
Country: Lebanon
Year: 2000
Price: $50.00

Winery review: Elegant aroma reminiscent of forest fruit preserves, over a background of toast and vanilla. Lush and complex palate with very smooth tannins that are prolonged in the jammy notes aroma.

My review: This wine was very complex with a bouquet of clove, blackberries, and raspberries. It tasted like figs, red currant, and black pepper with a smoky finish. I enjoyed this wine with 3 cheese stuffed chicken breast with rosemary potatoes and sauteed mushrooms, onion, and shallot. The wine accentuated the flavors of the food and also cut the fatty combination of cheese and chicken. It pared well with the vegetation and was okay with the potatoes, although I preferred it with the chicken and veggies.
