Tasting - Koyle Royale Cabernet Sauvignon

Koyle Royale Cab Sauv
Name: Koyle Royale
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: Colchagua Valley
Country: Chile
Year: 2007
Price: $33.00

Winery review: After the Undurraga family sold off their eponymous family winery, the younger generation started Koyle with CS and Syrah. This is their best wine of the inaugural release. It’s dark, deep, piercing and perfumed, with fine tobacco and berry fruit aromas and flavors. Oak is well applied; the fruit intense and pure. Only the young, tough tannins need to be resolved. Best in 2011. - 92 Points, Wine Enthusiast

My review: This wine had a bouquet that was tart and acidic with hints of blackberry. It tasted earthy and vegetal, like green bell pepper, and had a lightly peppered finish.
