Tasting - The Stump Jump Cabernet

The Stump Jump Cabernet Sauvignon
Name: The Stump Jump
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: McLaren Vale
Country: Australia
Year: 2009
Price: $12.99

Winery review: The nose sings with typical Cabernet characters of cassis, dark plums, blueberries, mint and bell peppers. Youthful and fresh the palate has a lovely leafy berry core than runs the whole way through to a lovely finish of fine mineral tannins. The oak is totally integrated and allows the fruit characters to star.

My review: The nose on this wine was phenomenal and completely different than any other Cabernet I've had recently. The nose was sweet and delectable with hints of raspberry, almost like a raspberry chocolate cheesecake. The taste was equally as delicious with a thick and luscious texture with cinnamon spice and chocolate flavors. The finish was slightly buttery and the wine itself paired well with fudge brownies. Delicious!
