Opera Prima Sparkling Moscato tasted on 1/25/14 at the Gourmet Pantry |
Variety: Muscat
Region: Castilla
Country: Spain
Year: N/A
Price: $7.99
Winery review: This distinctive sparkling wine boasts beautiful rose petal and lychee fruit aromas and luscious, silky-sweet flavors balanced by a crisp, refreshing finish. Lovely to sip on its own, it's also delicious with a wide range of desserts.
My review: The nose was pleasantly light and fruity with notes of orange and citrus. The taste, however, was soapy with pine and nutmeg. The texture was watery and hardly bubbled. I did not find this wine palatable and had an aftertaste that reminded me of the time I brushed my teeth accidentally with dial soap when I was 3 years old.
